Mrs Sara White 801 Bowie is bound over to the Grand jury on a 5000 bond for the fatal shooting of her husband Simmie Belton White 61 on Jan 16 in Bay town. Witness Hoglan and Karen Sue White, 18, testified that a confrontation over Karen led to the shooting.

Lee College Board of Regents unanimously calls a $1.3 million bond election for March 5 after petitions by 410 taxpayers. Projects include a technical vocational building academic building and a mechanical center with costs near $1.974 million. Federal funds cover all three. net bond cost to the district about $1.093 million with extra for land.
A Lee College board committee to find a successor for part time president George H. Gentry was named by Sam Bramjet. Regent Bill Strickier chairs the panel including John Sylvester Jim Black and O A Boatwright. Gentry plans to resign to focus on Baytown schools but will remain until a successor is chosen. The board also set plans for informing the public about building needs and a potential storm sewer project with city officials. A special meeting approved a March 5 bond election for 1.3 million dollars.
