Body found in Cedar Bayou identified as Derrick Spence
Baytown police identified Derrick G. Spence, 50, of Houston, as the missing man found in Cedar Bayou Saturday. A tug crew reported the body near 2700 Ward Road and police noted obvious signs of foul play. The Houston Police Department leads the investigation. the Harris County medical examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

The search for Anahuac restaurant owner Thein Nguyen continues as weather permits. Chambers County Sheriff says local authorities and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will persist, despite Coast Guard suspending its part, to locate Nguyen or his remains. He was last seen Jan 18 offshore near Smith Point. his 21 foot White Osprey was found a mile north of Smith Point with no sign of him.

Chambers County Sheriff Joe LaRive released a second compilation of drug arrest reports from the past months. The first item notes an Oct. 13 Stowell investigation by the street crimes unit leading to two arrests and the seizure of 6.9 ounces of marijuana after deputies traced marijuana sales to a white four-door car on East 3rd Street and later located the car in the 300 block of East 3rd Street.
