DIEP flap option offered for breast reconstruction patient

Evelyn Wynne, a Wallisville resident with the breast cancer gene, underwent a double mastectomy at Houston Methodist San Jacinto and chose a DIEP flap reconstruction by Dr. Benjamin Albright. The procedure uses abdominal tissue to form a new breast, preserving muscle and offering a tummy-tuck side benefit. Wynne recovered after seven days in hospital and returned to work, praising her doctors.
