San Jacinto Retirement Plan Moves Ahead at Decker site
Builders plan a 199 unit retirement community in the old San Jacinto Hospital complex on Decker Drive. The project would reuse three buildings with 44 independent living units, 92 assisted living, 63 memory care units, plus an adult daycare wellness center and a public steak and seafood restaurant on the sixth floor. Financing finalization and city permit approval are pending with resubmission of plan changes expected next month.

Santa offender works McDonald’s Santa role ends at Baytown branch
Norman Burbank, a 54 year old registered sex offender convicted in 1992 of sexually assaulting an 11 year old, played Santa at a Baytown McDonald’s on Garth Road. He was found to be compliant with Texas sex offender registration and not on probation. He is no longer employed and McDonald’s reviews hiring procedures. Police released him after no charges were filed.
