Raymond Herndon a 19 year old of Highlands was arrested in Freeport for hi jacking and faces armed robbery and burglary charges in Matagorda and Brazoria counties. He is also charged in Justice Roscor Zierlein's court with stealing a car from Franta Motor Co. Police found the car described and spotted it on a Freeport street. A pistol found in the car was said to be stolen in a prior burglary. Herndon reportedly confessed to the burglary, car theft, and the armed robbery of Joe LeMasters in Matagorda county. Franta said the car came from his Highlands used car lot in June. He moved to Freeport to live with relatives after leaving Highlands.
