Library policy requires card on checkout at Sterling Library
Baytown library patrons must show their library card to borrow materials starting January 3, replacing the old photo ID exception. Sterling Library serves about 28,000 monthly visitors, with over half a million items circulated yearly. City Librarian Katherine Brown cites reforms in 2005 and anticipates 2006 plans including more public computers and better floor layout. Replacement cards cost $1, with options for original or key chain styles.
