Goose Creek Trail completes long public access goal
Goose Creek Trail marks completion of a project begun in the early 1990s. Parks director Scott Johnson says the aim was to provide public water access and beautify Goose Creek. The 5.5 mile route runs from Bayland Island to Emmett Hutto Boulevard and reflects the Goose Creek Stream Development Committee’s vision appointed in 1991 by former Baytown city manager Bobby Rountree. The trail links about 13 parks and ties into a broader improvement effort across the city.
