ExxonMobil to pay $6.1 million fine for emissions
ExxonMobil will pay 6.1 million dollars in civil penalties after self reporting to the EPA for Clean Air Act violations at its Baytown refinery and related sites. Three heaters allegedly lacked proper sulfur dioxide monitoring, allowing sulfur-bearing oil streams to circulate unmonitored as they were processed into gas.

Police seek leads in Baytown hit and run fatalities
Baytown police hunt clues in two Dec. 6 hit and run crashes that killed Samuel Marlin, 47, and 14 year old Adrian Elias. Marlin’s motorcycle was struck by a white Chevrolet pickup at State Highway 146 and South Alexander Drive. Witnesses described a possibly 2000 to 2004 model white truck with tinted windows, driver possibly a woman, fleeing the scene. Marlin died later at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The second crash left Adrian Elias dead after a vehicle struck him in the 2500 block of J B Lefevre Street. the driver fled and no witnesses were present when police arrived.
