Memorial Baptist Church choirs present Journey to Bethlehem at 7 15 p m services Wednesday with junior intermediate and adult groups plus beginner primary and handbell choir. Public invited.
John P. McCormick, coordinator of special programs at Lee College, was promoted to direct the new deaf rehabilitation program. His salary rises from 13,579 to 14,579 effective Jan 1, and he gains administrative status. LC president Dr. Richard Strahan cited plans to expand deaf student enrollment from 25 to about 50 by January and 150 to 200 in coming years. The board also approved Hawaii trip for administrators and trustees, awarded a metallic shop building bid to Pacer Building Systems of Houston, and assigned electrical work to Warren-Mitchell Electric Co. of Houston.
Texas Department of Public Safety estimates 54 fatalities in traffic accidents over Christmas holidays from 6 p.m. December 24 to midnight December 28. DPS joins with the Governor's highway safety program urging Texans to drive friendly and stay alive for the seventies.
