Barbers Hill seeks new athletic director and football coach
Barbers Hill ISD posted a front office ad Tuesday for a new head football coach and athletic director to start in January. Superintendent Greg Poole called the post highly desirable as the district moves to hire after Don Price’s departure, with a 10 day posting required before approval at the open board session. Price, longtime coach since 1998, left under a separation agreement approved at the December meeting with a buyout reported above $150,000.

Top recruit Kevin Johnson set for Lee College debut
Kevin Johnson, a 6 foot 6 inch 235 pound sophomore transfer from Chicago, is poised to debut for Lee College after resolving academic ineligibility. The Rebels travel to Coastal Bend College Thursday and host Tomball College Saturday at 7 p.m., with coach Roy Champagne praising Johnson as a leader and energizing presence on the court. Johnson started at Wisconsin Milwaukee before transferring, saying his intensity and versatility are his strengths.
