In a daytime Baytown single vehicle crash on Commerce Street a car driven by Michael D. Holcomb struck a utility pole after slipping on wet pavement. Passenger John Dickens 16 sustained minor injuries. no charges were filed.

Applications for the two year registered nurse associate degree class at Lee College will be taken in January and February. The class will be selected in June to begin nursing classes in September. Chief Goodfellow continues a 44 year Baytown community drive to deliver more than 1000 gift bags to underprivileged children. A central heating unit caused a fire early Monday at a Baytown area residence. Fire crews responded after 2:57 a.m., with Station 2 and additional units battling the flames for about 90 minutes. No injuries are reported and investigators are not yet released.
