Historic Bert Brown House moved to Republic of Texas Plaza
Baytown preserves pre oil era history by relocating the 1898 Bert and Orra Brown house from Arbor Street to the city historical park at North Main. The move keeps the structure within a new greenbelt near ExxonMobil facilities and prevents demolition. Bert Brown lived there until 1968, later sold and moved from its original bluff site above Scott's Bay.
