The body of Staff Sergeant Curtis C. Washburn, 23, Baytown, was laid to rest at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville after military services. He died in 1943 when his B-24 crashed on a mountainside. seven crew members remained unidentified. Washburn attended Robert E. Lee High School and enlisted in 1942.
