Baytown gas rate hearing set for December
Baytown officials heard Houston Natural Gas Corp. request a monthly rate rise averaging 61 cents per customer. The proposal would lift the typical bill for 3,000 cubic feet of gas, with higher charges above 10 MCF, while the company cited rising operating costs. City and utility officials debated timing, fiscal year data, and how Baytown rates compare with other cities, with a final decision pending additional figures.
