Substation gains AFIS system easing county crime patrols
On the east end, only Wallisville had an AFIS machine, causing delays as arrests queued for processing. The Cloverleaf station received a donated AFIS unit funded by District 36 Water Board, North Shore Rotary, and County Commissioners, plus $8,000 from drug seizure money, with the unit sharing access for all agencies. The new facility on Hollywood Street frees officers to stay on the street, and 53 criminals were printed last week.
