Thieves Hit Eight Spots Three Here
Thieves struck eight service stations in Baytown Pasadena and Deer Park in a coordinated spree. Officers said burglars pried front doors knocked out glass and took cash registers in each break in. First Baytown theft at McClur Humble Station reported at 12 01 am with the cash register missing. Spalding Gulf station on Lobit and Decker also hit with the register gone. A third break in occurred at Phillips Service Station West Main and Lee with the register taken.

Walter O. Jones Jr. aged 38 from Channelview is treated at St. Joseph's Hospital Houston for extensive burns after an explosion at Sheffield Steel coke plant. Two other Houston men, Jack W.
