Peace Pastors Facing Problems
Reverend Jack R. Farrell of the Church of the Brethren in Syracuse Indiana faced a crisis after agreeing to officiate at a Korean War veteran funeral. The service included a flag presentation and a 21 rifle salute, triggering Farrell to reconsider his pacifist beliefs. He, a World War II veteran, concluded the military aspects exceeded his Gospel understanding and spoke to his church the following Sunday.

Follow Same Road To Mexico
AUSTIN AP Travelers to Mexico City can pick Route 57 south of San Antonio and follow it to the Mexican capital under a new highway designation. The state Highway Commission said the route numbering committee of the American Association of State Highway Officials approved linking U.S. 57 with Mexico’s federal Highway 57 across North Central Texas. U.S. 380 will extend from west of Old Glory in Stonewall County east along Texas 24 to connect with I-30 near Greenville, joining at the Rio Grande near Ogle Pass. The route will run northeast over U.S. 277 to Texas 57, then continue through Zavala County to a junction with I-35 near Moore in Fort Worth, creating a single east-west state route bypassing Dallas-Fort Worth traffic. The commission also announced a single new designation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
