A moving cold front lashed Beaumont with winds up to 90 mph, causing two deaths and injuries to ten others. Two inches of rain fell, and a giant twister crossed central Texas and into Louisiana. Tornadoes were reported near Seguin, Tanglewood, Washington on the Brazos, College Station, Nelsonville, Tabor and Lane City. She passed away at 11 45 p m Wednesday at her son BE C Popes home and will be laid to rest in Saratoga. Funeral services are set for Friday at the First Baptist Church in Saratoga with ministers officiating. The Paul AW Lee funeral home handles arrangements. She leaves two sons Dr A B Pope of Celar Valley and BE C Pope Jr plus a daughter Mrs W Bates White of Houston. Also five grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with two sisters and a brother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saratoga and the WBA.
