Profit Charge Denied Over Texas Catastrophe Pool
Oran F. Needham of the TCPIA says no insurance company will profit from the catastrophe pool created with Texas Legislature support. He notes profits will go into a reserve for future storms and the rules must be approved by TCPIA members and the State Board of Insurance. A public hearing in Austin is set for Dec. 7 to review TCPIA operations.
