Lake Charles relief drive organized by Texas firm
Blake and Devora Torrence organized an emergency aid effort after Hurricane Laura struck Lake Charles. Thirteen local Centex employees were affected, and thousands of dollars in donations and supplies were gathered from donors in Baytown and nearby areas, with volunteers coordinating via drop points at HEB, Dollar stores, and Wal Mart. The effort included fuel for generators and baby supplies, and organizers planned further trips to deliver aid while urging more donations.
