Swiss Actor-Director to star in Hamlet Hamburg and New York
Swiss actor director Maximilian Schell plans to perform Hamlet in Hamburg and New York this fall. He made Hamlet in German earlier in Munich and now moves to the United States for October. Schell, 31, says he may direct a play during the four months in Hamlet and eyes a possible Hollywood comedy with Shirley MacLaine. He respects avant-garde cinema and cites Alain Resnais as a major influence while hinting at future projects with his sister Maria.
