Budget cuts hit Lee College as state funding trimmed
The 40.7 million state budget for Texas community colleges lowers Lee College allotment by more than 600000 due to reduced contact hours. A possible cap looms if all colleges agree. Regents rejected wind insurance of 250000, despite FEMA aid history, and approved 66000 for three billboards along I 10 to boost enrollment. Also discussed were policy updates, an external purchasing audit, and notes on president selection and faculty initiatives.
