Santo Keeps Houston From League Top Streak Snapped
In a 3-1 defeat of the Houston Colt .45s, Chicago Cubs pitcher Don Nottsbart earned his 16th win as Banks and Santo delivered the decisive hits. Banks tied Ralph Kiner for 22nd on the all time home run list with his 369th. Cubs catcher Jim Schaffer delivered a key defensive play and Banks and Santo provided the only runs. The Colts, hampered by injuries and tough defense, left runners stranded as Chicago improved to stay within reach of the league lead.
