Goose Creek CISD approves 3-cent debt service tax hike
Goose Creek trustees vote to raise the debt service tax rate by three cents to cover bond-related debt from a 2005 voter approved package. The district will tap about $4 million from bond reserves this year and notes the average home valued at $91,057 would owe $901.16 in taxes, up $7.69 from last year. The 2005 maximum debt service rate was 35 cents. Goose Creek remains 6 cents below that cap.
