City Council weighs driveways and street access changes
Baytown officials pursue two road measures to ease congestion on Garth Road including minimum driveway spacing by street type and shared access ideas. A separate ordinance would fund a 60,000 dollar project to link Home Depot parking with a south shopping center via a pipeline right of way. Dallas Street right of way between Homan and Alva may be abandoned as no block access exists.

Anahuac U r es water boil order rescinded
Anahuac lifted its mandatory boil water order after state tests showed borine levels rose enough to halt contamination risk. Mayor Sue Hawthorne said the move allows school reopening to proceed with drinkable water. The city had been under boil order since late July due to a gearbox failure and temporary switch to Trinity Bay system which lowered chlorine and allowed E. coli concerns.
