Texas Tourism Push Expands Under New Agency Drive
The Texas Tourist Development Agency marks its fourth year with a $260,000 promotion budget. Expanded travel ads will feature Texas holidays in national magazines and newspapers. The program includes extensive travel shows, a 20 foot exhibit capsule, and distribution of 25,000 Travel Texas literature sets. Five million prospects expected to view state exhibits across six shows. The agency reports a $1 return for each $1 invested in 1965 with $72 million in direct state taxes and $906 million in total visitor spending.
