Three Killed as Car Hit by Amtrak Train Near Houston
In Harris County three young people died when a car tried to dart across a railroad crossing and was struck by an Amtrak passenger train late Wednesday night. Witnesses said the driver bypassed a guard rail and crossed the tracks. the train horn sounded but could not stop. The victims, two males and a female, were all believed under 20 and died at the scene about 10 miles east of Houston.
