Baytown Little Theater plans a major upgrade by converting a landmark Baytown building into a two-auditorium performing arts facility. The project aims to preserve architectural features while adding large lobbies a café area and an art gallery. A slide show preview tied to Fiddler on the Roof offered attendees a glimpse of the future complex with hopes for partnerships with local groups.
Funeral service for Keith E. Grace Jr. 26 will be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Baytown. Following the service his body will be transported to Houston National Cemetery for burial.
Baytown officials plan two signs naming Spur 330 as Veterans Memorial Highway while Decker Drive remains the address. Board members of the Cedar Bayou Navigation District vote to hold annual property assessments at 2 cents per $100 value while considering potential financing if the U S Army Corps of Engineers approves dredging and straightening work on Cedar Bayou in Chambers County. Project manager Guido Persiani cites a $40 million Corps cost estimate.
