Mexico Cattlemen face drought danger in northern states
Mexico City AP reports cattlemen in parched northern states including Coahuila Nuevo Leon Tamaulipas Chihuahua Durango Baja California and Sonora face a critical two week window for heavy rains. President Ochoa says wells may run dry and government water from dams could avert a crisis though cattle deaths appear limited to a few hundred with one Sonora report of 5 000 deaths possible. Government plans to export more cattle this year push total to 1 317 000 a rise of 317 000 from last year.
