Panthers face tough road to state in final tuneup
Anahuac coach Darrell Barbay warned his Panthers to improve after a three way scrimmage with East Chambers and Tarkington. In a final tuneup before opening the season at Houston Kinkaid, Anahuac beat Tarkington 18 0 and tied East Chambers 0 0. The defense shined with a Cameron Mitchell interception return, while two fumbles hurt the offense as Dewan Childress scored on a 60 yard run. Barbay praised blocking and pass defense and noted offensive miscues to clean up before next Friday.
