Police investigate theft of more than $600 raised by a Baytown Girl Scout troop after the money from cookie sales cannot be accounted for. Authorities say the troop members had turned in the funds but the cash is now missing.
Police say a burglary at John's Trim Shop nearly 11:15 p.m. Sunday or early Tuesday stole about 300 dollars. A black Kenwood CD player radio and three Chevy tires were taken, with total loss around 950 dollars. A separate break–in in the 7200 block of Garth involved a coin operated machine with money taken.
Police report multiple vehicle burglaries Monday across the city. About $1,000 in electronics were stolen from a front seat in the 1200 block of Northwood while parked. $200 was taken from an unlocked vehicle outside a gas station in the 100 block of South Alexander around 7 p.m. A red 1993 Toyota pickup, Texas plate OIWXX5, valued at about $1,000, was stolen between Aug 11 and 16 from the Johnny Carino's parking lot in the 7000 block of Garth Road.
A green 2005 Polaris Ranger ATV was taken from a yard in the 3000 block of Ferry Road late Sunday or early Monday, according to police. The vehicle’s estimated value is not stated in the report.
A daytime break in occurred in the 500 block of North Gaillard with entry to a residence. Police report firearms valued at about 1500 dollars stolen during the incident.
Police report theft at apartment in the 3800 block of West Baker. Missing a window air conditioner, sink, and faucet from an evicted unit with about 1200 dollars loss. Baytown officers filed 44 offense reports Monday into Tuesday including assaults, auto thefts, burglaries, forgery, robbery, thefts and other cases.
