Chevron Phillips moves toward Gulf Coast petrochemical project
Chevron Phillips Chemical has secured TCEQ air permits for an ethane cracker and two polyethylene units at Cedar Bayou Baytown and Sweeny sites in Old Ocean Texas. An EPA greenhouse gas permit was issued earlier this year. Pending final board approval, the 1.5 million metric tons per year cracker and 1.0 million metric tons per year polyethylene facilities could begin construction, creating about 400 long term jobs and 10 000 construction roles with completion targeted for 2017.
