Crosby Trustees keep six bus routes as TEA approval remains

Crosby Texas trustees faced ethics and legal questions over bus routes, ultimately choosing to keep the existing six routes approved last year by the Texas Education Agency. They cited late timing and potential confusion among patrons, despite concerns about federal and state requirements to eliminate ineligible routes and shift riders to nearest campuses. Attorney Grant Cook clarified the term Regal as misused, noting the district can transport anyone but may lose state reimbursement if a child within two miles of a campus uses a nonfunded route. The board sought guarantees from Supt. Jerry Procharka and County Superintendent Carroll Teague before finalizing the decision.
