Health and smoking I Q links in student survey
A study of 6810 students by Harvard researchers finds higher I Q scores and better academic achievement among non smokers and lightly smoked youths. The report notes complex links between smoking and achievement, with emotional problems more common in younger boys and rising emotional distress among teen girls. Cancer rates in children rise faster with age, with mortality more than doubling for ages 1-4 and tripling for ages 5-14 since 1930, though researchers caution about diagnose accuracy.
