Baytown Library Bond Vote Set for September 20
Baytown voters will decide on a $350,000 library bond on Tuesday September 20 after the City Council followed the Library Advisory Board. The total project cost is $490,000 including land building equipment and contingencies. The current library site may be sold to Citizens National Bank to offset costs. The board recommends a 1 acre site at Decker Drive and Fleetwood Drive near San Jacinto Memorial Hospital with room for about 13,500 square feet and 10,000 new books.

Nicky Johnson seven, son of Mr and Mrs Sam Johnson of 2206 South, was burned Thursday at his home when he dumped a small line of gasoline on a trash fire. Firefighters gave first aid and he was taken to a Baytown hospital for observation. Two motel windows at the Palms Motel on Highway 146 were shot out Wednesday, owner L E Gray reported, with damages of 16 dollars each.
