Baytown Council to Hold Two Public Hearings Thursday
Baytown City Council will host two public hearings on the CCPD and FCPEMSD budgets for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. CCPD adopted July 14, FCPEMSD July 21, both submitted July 23. council must approve or reject by Sept. 1 with possible amendments by Oct. 1.

Baytown Council weighs budget with tax revenue plan
After two work shops the council discussed raising staff pay and boosting beautification and recycling. Using tax revenue and over 700000 in undesignated funds could amend the budget for raises and city projects. Council member Scott Sheley urged a concrete reduce reuse recycle program and educator outreach, while mayor and others prioritized employee raises and controlled spending. The meeting and hearings are set at Baytown City Hall with a first public hearing on Sept 10.
