Baytown Special Rodeo invites families to free event
Baytown Special Rodeo returns to the Baytown Youth Fair arena on Saturday September 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free Western Day for special needs youngsters features rides, games, critter touch tanks, a barber train and horses with Rodeo Buddies plus visits from Exxon's fire engine Acadian's ambulance HPD helicopter and farm animals.

ExxonMobil funds city tree planting program with 1 million
Starting in the fall the city will receive 1 million dollars worth of 65 gallon trees from ExxonMobil as a fine payment. About 1 500 large trees will be planted on government property over three years including Bayland Island and Spur 330.

Rotary and Harris Health Run Shots for Tots Event
At Sterling High School Rotary Club of Baytown Harris Health and GCCISD organized a Shots for Tots turnout with 36 Rotarians 20 Harris Health RNs and CMAs plus GCCISD staff. Parents received shot records and explanations while snacks and lollipops were provided. Verenece Villarreal notes about 600 records screened and 300 shots given yearly. The program began with Dr. Alton Pichoda and Rotarian John Keeler has led for 10 years.
