J R Martinez to keynote Baytown 20th anniversary CIS fundraiser
J R Martinez, Iraq veteran and survivor of a Humvee landmine injury, will headline the Communities in Schools of Baytown 20th anniversary fundraiser at Lee College. Tickets start at 45 dollars with premiere options at 75 dollars and a dance raffle at 25 dollars. proceeds support Baytown students’ academics and behavior programs.

Wreck closes lanes as drivers ejected to hospital
A truck crash near the Alexander Road exit halted northbound traffic at 3:30 PM. The lead driver was life flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition, name withheld pending next of kin. The second driver was transported to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital with condition unknown. Investigators recreated the scene and closed feeder roads for safety.
