Wilkenfeld, offered to join a reward fund to capture offenders who have been shooting out plate glass with BB guns. He noted at least $1,000 in display windows must be replaced after two weekend incidents. Police asked residents to report youths with BB guns or pellet pistols and, if possible, record license numbers. Montgomery said windows are damaged by youths driving along streets with the weapons, and that the public must assist as officers cannot watch every store and home. Some residents reported carloads of youths, noise, and disturbance after Tuesday’s stories. Two cars have been damaged recently. the chief promised to pursue culprits.

O K Towler, field superintendent for Sun Oil for nearly 49 years, died of a heart attack at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday in a Baytown hospital after a period of ill health. A Baytown resident 42 years, he lived at 12 Graham. He was a Mason, Odd Fellows and Rebekah member. Survived by widow Daphne, two daughters Stratton and Sadie Buchsebacher, and Lt. O K Towler Jr., US Navy, stationed in Japan. Also survived by sister Mrs Grace Pennington and brothers G F Towler and B D Towler and two granddaughters.
