Wildfires Destroy About 10 Million in Fencing in Montague
North Central Texas wildfires in mid April scorched 45 000 acres and destroyed nearly 200 000 acres in Montague and neighboring counties. Officials say fencing loss totals about 10 million dollars to replace as three people died and homes and rangeland were ruined. Timely rains aided firefighters over Easter weekend while Texas lawmakers abandon closures of state schools for the mentally disabled and push community based care options.
