City Council revises Kilgore and Bob Smith road plans
Baytown City Council revised its 2001 Street Bond Program to cover cost overruns on Kilgore Road and a section of Bob Smith Road. Original estimates for Kilgore and Bob Smith were $1.9 million and $311,500, later rising to about $3.0 million total due to soil and material delays. To free funds, District 1 and 3 allocations were reduced to 500,000 each, with Kilgore and Bob Smith paved from 2001 bonds and utility work paid from water sewer funds plus drainage bonds covering Kilgore regional drainage.
