Washington AP reports President plans to attend the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester Virginia this Friday. The event includes a pageant honoring a daughter and features numerous sponsors and performers.
Baytown police answer break in reports at a Battown school and several other thefts as burglars target vehicles and homes. A 1972 Oldsmobile was stolen from Ricky Oliver’s driveway and equipment valued around 40 dollars plus items worth 2480 were taken from various sites. Principal Leon Legler reported tools stolen from a truck bed and a stereo was taken from an apartment. A shotgun rifle camera and drill were reported stolen from John H. Alexander’s home.
Baytown police report three separate traffic accidents injuring five people. A 13 year old pedestrian, Claudell Holmes, was struck on Morris Street and treated for abrasions. In a second crash on Decker Drive two drivers, Michael Ogden and Helen Bennett, were hospitalized and released. charges issued for failure to yield and no valid license respectively. A third crash at Harvey and Harvard Streets injured Robert DeLaVergne. he and Janet Sellers were hospitalized and DeLaVergne charged with failure to yield.
