Harold E. Stassen born April 13 1907 on a St Paul area farm of mixed Czech Norwegian German ancestry rose from farm work to a law degree at University of Minnesota. He joined Navy duty in the Pacific mid career and later became Minnesota governor twice before resigning to serve again. He met Esther Glenne at a Baptist church social and married in 1929. they had two children and lived modestly as he rose to become president of the University of Pennsylvania.

Deadlock on Highway 73 Bridge Height
