End of the road for Sterling star Justin Neal at regionals
Sterling athlete Justin Neal finished fifth in the 400 meters at the Region III SA track championships with 49.51 seconds and will attend Colorado School of Mines on a football scholarship. Neal, Baytown’s sole finalist in prelims, reflected on lane position and the tough stagger start. Sterling hurdler Dandrick Jackson qualified in the 300 meters, while Lee and Sterling field performers struggled, with Bates missing finals in long jump and Zellers placing 10th in discus. Sterling jumper Ashley Alexander advanced to finals in long jump region, but failed to reach finals in triple jump. Lee coach Southall urged staying positive and rebuilding for next year.
