El Chaco gets green light for red light in Baytown
Baytown City Council reversed an earlier stance and voted Thursday to install a traffic stop light at the El Chaco Drive and Highway 146 intersection. City staff cited incomplete information, while prior studies favored flashing yellow lights. Mayor Alfaro noted transportation authority approval in February 2001 for stop lights at both intersections, yet engineering studies recommended caution. Local resident Bob Crank praised the reconsideration as the public supported the move.
