Texas House unveils new school funding distribution plan
Texas House leaders proposed a ground breaking school funding formula to replace the Robin Hood system. It would allocate 4459 per K-8 student and 5409 for high school students, adjust for regional costs, and include targeted grants for bilingual, poor, career tech, and special education students. The plan requires 700 million more in the education budget and may shift with summer TKES results. Governor Perry acknowledged ongoing talks.
