Real Atomic Tank Maneuver Slated Tuesday
Army tank units will perform the first real life atomic tank maneuver in U.S. military history at Atomic Test Site. The test uses Patton tanks and armored vehicles against a 10 000 ton TNT explosive yield with a 500 foot detonation tower at Queen Flat. Four Drownings In Baylawn Area Over Three Days
Four youths drowned in Baylawn area waters over three days. Welden Litzler, 16, drowned at Tante Lake near Highway 40 while picnicking with a Sunday school group from an Assembly of God church in Denver Addition. Earlier, Kathleen McHugh, 4, and Felix Massin Jr, 15, died in separate Baytown incidents. Philpot, 40, of Houston drowned at Lake Houston after a boat fall during a fishing trip. Emergency crews searched tanks and lakes. Massin is survived by parents, a sister, a brother, and grandparents. Burial followed at Cellarcrest Cemetery after services at Grace Methodist Church.

Houston Couple Injured In Highway Crash West Of Seabrook
Miss Doris Nell Simmons and Morgan L Gillespie, both of Houston, were injured when their car left Webater highway two miles west of Seabrook Sunday. Simmons, 41, suffered a fractured left shoulder while Gillespie received severe facial lacerations. They were taken to San Jacinto Memorial Hospital by a passerby. Harris County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash.
