Two Women Hurt In Sunday Traffic Crashes

Two Baytown women were hospitalized with serious injuries after separate Sunday automobile crashes. Mrs Helen Prince 3 employed at a Piggly Wiggly coffee bar was in critical condition with a fractured skull mangled left leg possible internal injuries and numerous cuts and bruises. She collided with the rear of another car pushing a pickup on Decker Drive around 2 am. Mrs Nora Kelley of 1600 Park Way Drive is treated for a fractured jaw and possible internal injuries after a five car crash on Highway 230 near Waller. Her husband Robert W Kelley was unhurt and their daughter Elesa Kelley 14 suffered a minor back injury. Mrs Kelley was moved from Heights Hospital in Houston to San Jacinto Memorial Hospital. Mrs Prince was driving alone.

One A Day Mail Set At Highlands

Highlands will introduce a one a day mail delivery this week under nationwide cuts ordered by the postmaster general. Mrs C Wela Hill, postmistress, said a test run on part time routes was made this morning and readjustments to regular routes are still needed. Under the new system, morning and evening mail will be delivered together, likely making carriers later in their rounds. The post office will soon close at noon on Saturdays instead of staying open until 2 PM.
