U.S. Army specialist 4 Wendale Golden, 21, son of Mr and Mrs Roy Golden of Baytown, earned the Air Medal for combat aerial support of ground operations in Vietnam. A propeller and rotor repairman with the 179th Aviation Company, he joined the Army in 1967, completed basic at Fort Polk, and arrived overseas in May 1968 after last stationed at Fort Eustis. He is a Palo Duro High School graduate.
