Baytown postmaster M. L. Neal announced a new law lets each family block mailed ads deemed erotically arousing or sexually provocative. Patrons may request the post office to stop mail from the offender and remove all mailing lists they own, control, or rent. Neal notes few advertisers dominate lists and expects complaints to curtail obscene mail.
Mrs. J. F. Parks Sr. of Dallas, grandmother of Henry Holcomb assistant managing editor of The Bay Town Sun, died age 85. Funeral at Restland 4 p.m. Monday with burial in Restland Memorial Park. Memorial gifts requested to Lakewood Baptist Church Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Smith won the Mr. and Mrs. Golf Tournament at Goose Creek Country Club with a 61 low net score, 11 under par. Other winners were Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Wright, second low net with 62, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Whitcomb, third low net with 63. Low gross winners were Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. Jack DeCell, second low gross.
